I opened my studio, “Nuttle Fiber Art & Design,” in 2019 as a platform for my personal exploration in the fiber arts as well as a teaching space for sharing my practice with others.  It is here that I explore the interplay of color and texture and the many qualities of natural fiber. 

I am inspired by the concept of “Slow Cloth,” the principles of which were conceived and originally articulated by Elaine Lipson in 2007.  Among the 10 qualities laid out in her manifesto are the joy of the process, the possibility of mastery, the thoughtful use of materials and their source, honoring the culture and tradition, and the commitment to community, sharing and things well-made.  These are the same principles and values I strive to bring to my ongoing personal exploration of cloth.
